WhoAreWe? helps create more diverse and inclusive teams and organisations: public and private sector, education, team sports and more.
Diversity has many aspects. Some are easily visible: gender, ethnicity, physical ability, orientation, age, religious beliefs.
Neurodiversity has been defined by Oxford Learning Dictionaries as "The range of differences in individual brain function and behavioural traits, regarded as part of normal variation in the human population". These are less visible, but just as vital: hidden traits/aspects of cognitive neurodiversity and personality/persona include (i) how our brains prefer to perceive information (ii) how we prefer to make decisions, (iii) introversion and extroversion.
Neurodiversity is an essential aspect of diversity, and the link between being inclusive, valuing diversity and success is well documented, supporting what we know inherently from experience to be true. For example, a 2015 study found that companies with 10% higher gender and racial diversity in their management teams have a 6% higher profit before tax. Thats a big return. The debate has rapidly moved to how to build a diverse organisation quickly. And, crucially, to different types of diversity like cognitive neurodiversity.
Awareness is always the start point. Only if we are aware of and understand the diversity of all our colleagues can we become a truly diverse and inclusive team, and be more productive together. We can win more often, be the best we can be.
WhoAreWe? raises that awareness. It is based on psychology pioneered by Carl Jung and others which has been developed over the past 100 years and has become increasingly grounded in research. It is now starting to dovetail with findings in neuroscience.
Use WhoAreWe? with the whole team and you can all gain valuable insights into how you each prefer to operate - and how you can all work together better and more inclusively. Enlightening for entertainment and amusement, and used well its a powerful tool.
